# Try it

Call every operation of the reference right in the browser, with your sandbox key and without any third-party proxy.

## What Try it protects

The portal is a place where keys are typed in. That is why three fixed rules apply here.

- **Sandbox keys only.** Try it sends keys of the `test` environment only. The API also refuses a live key from this portal server-side with `401 UNAUTHENTICATED`.
- **The API only.** The request goes straight to the server of the spec and to nobody else: no proxy, no third-party scripts, no analytics.
- **Tab only.** The key lives in this tab’s storage, not in localStorage and not in a cookie. Close the tab and it is gone.
